Temple Beth El’s members come from all walks of life, with diverse relationships to our community. Some people have just moved to Maine, others have been part of Maine’s Jewish community for generations. Some seek a community home in which to raise children with Jewish values and identity; others have grown children or no children. We live Jewish lives though we may be married to someone who is not Jewish or we may not have been born to Jewish parents. By way of religious practice, affinity groups, religious school, tikkun olam (social justice), adult learning, or any number programs held both in our building and out in the community, there is room for all of us.
