No two paths to becoming Jewish are the same. Your experience, neshama (soul), and aspirations come together in one divine configuration to inform the path forward. The first step in a conversion process at TBE is to have a conversation with Rabbi Braun, so that she can understand where you are in your Jewish journey, and provide further guidance on how to proceed in your study and spiritual exploration. Sometimes your path may involve independent study, other times a formal class, other times a study partner or tutor. When your study is complete, you will meet with a Beit Din (panel of three rabbis and lay leaders) to talk with you about what you have learned, hear about your connection to Judaism, and determine whether you are ready to go to a mikveh (ritual bath) to finalize your conversion.
